AFP and QNAP 419p+

AFP and QNAP 419p+ Hi I hope somebody can help me. I have recently bought a pair of iMacs to replace 2 Winboxes and connected them to a 419P+. However having enabled AFP I cannot make a connection to the NAS without a very long wait, something well over a minute. I also have try several times to get a connection much of the time.
