can i add a sata 3 hard drive on my qnap ts 459?

can i add a sata 3 hard drive on my qnap ts 459? I have a qnap ts-459 with 3 sata 2 hard drives in raid 5 and two days ago one hdd failed. Can I replace the dead sata 2 drive from hitachi with a sata 3 hard drive of the same size of a different brand? And does my old qnap ts-459 even support sata 3?
