How to migrate files shares to "homes"?

How to migrate files shares to "homes"? I have set up our NAS so that each of us has our own file share which is named eg fred, mary, jane etc. On our Windows PCs I have mapped a network drive for \\nas\fred, and \\nas\mary etc. I have since discovered about the built-in "homes" share.
