USB Extremely Slow!

USB Extremely Slow! Have my 2TB external connected to the front port and started the one touch backup. 5 hours later I come back thinking it will be done or nearly... NOPE, not even 1/3 done. Googling, I see a few other posts, no resolution. Is this a known problem still or are there any solutions? Not sure why this option was even included atm. more ...
